Check out Kylie performing my favourite shoulder exercise! This a great progression if you are struggling to break through with your military press and if you are struggling with the pressing portion of a clean and press. This is the Eccentric Focused Push Press It is a great exercise for building your shoulders and getting better at those lifts as it focuses on both contractions. As your concentric contractions are usually the first to give out, here using a push press, you can actually make them not fatigue as quickly and be able to keep up with your eccentric portion. By then slowly lowering the weight, you are then burning out your eccentric contraction, getting the full benefit of this exercise and seriously burning out every single muscle fibre in those shoulders! Give this a whirl and if you are keen to really push yourself, get a partner, and make them help you get the weight up, and let you bring it down, or simply run the rack, go from the heaviest weight you can manage, to the lightest! ✖ PERFORMANCE ✖ Getting lean is no easy feat and it's fair to say that we experienced a few trials and tribulations (and some good things!) throughout our 12 week journey! Training: as we discussed in our last posts, our strength training took a massive hit. We had to decrease weight and volume simply because we didn't have the energy to lift big weight for many reps. Daily activities: small, mundane tasks such as preparing food, going to the supermarket and even conversing with people became a challenge. We were forced to conserve energy whenever and wherever we could, so this meant even simple tasks became tedious. We’re pretty sure we were a burden to those closest to us as well, as our patience was thin on most days 😅 Work: running our own business allowed us the flexibility that we needed to get through the 12 weeks. We would cover for each other when we felt it necessary and took split shifts etc to ensure that the effects of the shred didn't compromise producitivity at work. Other notable mentions: libido decreased, zest for life diminished and food become an ultimate focus. All we could think about was when and what our next meal would be and keeping busy was better than doing nothing, as boredom definitely heightened hunger pangs. Having said all of the above, we can confidently say that there were many positives to come out the challenge! Our digestive and gut health improved remarkably, skin clarity was noticeable and of course, our physiques became more aesthetic overall. At the end of day, this challenge is definitely not for everyone. UPPER BODY SESSION w/ @becchang24 👯‍♀️💪🏽 - Current Training Split: Upper Body 2 x per week Lower Body 3 x per week 12,000 steps daily LISS Cardio 1 hour per week (stairmaster) - My feedback from @wbff_aust was to not grow my upper body anymore if I’m wanting to stay in bikini category, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to stop training upper body completely! Instead I’m focussing on WBFF Bikini body features only and only training Back and Shoulders directly. This is how I train a lot of my clients as to me the bigger your Back and Shoulders, the smaller your waist looks...so I’m gonna keep lifting those dumbbells and create some shape and my girls will too 👙 - The only other feedback I had was to grow my Glutes and Legs.. So I’m training them with more frequency now and I’m looking forward to the Gains.. i can already feel them coming lol #painisreal 🍑🔥 I’m also eating to grow, each week I’m increasing my food in my reverse diet, listening to my body and mind and monitoring my measurements as to when I feel I need more. Reverse dieting is hard especially coming out of prep and I recommend doing this with a coach if you don’t have the mindset or knowledge to do so on your own.
