Thankful & Grateful . In the midst of the blues, I have to pause and remember to give thanks, and to be grateful for the simplest of things. From laughter shared with friends, to hugs and kisses on the forehead from my girlfriend, to a smile exchanged with a stranger. Those are the things that remind me that no matter how “blue” things are and how confusing these emotions get, I get the opportunity to be around the things that make the world go round. . I might not understand why this year’s winter blues are harder than any other, and it’s probably for a reason that’s right in front of my face, but this is what I do know, it’s another day closer to winter solstice, which means another day closer to Spring! . I’m baccccck! 😄 I took some time away to prioritize and get some goals together. By June 2020 I want to be at my goal weight which is 125, I’m currently 150. To be honest, I don’t look bad but I know what’s best for my body stature being 5’2 and knowing my genetics are just small and remembering when I felt my healthiest. I gave myself a little extra breathing room because I want to do it different this time which means making it fun. happy Sunday babes! This is a workout from the other day, I’ve been crazy busy between work and studying for finals so haven’t been too gym focused!! . Turkey Meatballs and Asparagus with Creamy Mushroom Truffle Sauce 💙 7sp . . If you watch my food posts in my stories you know I love this sauce enough I eat it at least 2x a week. I make a ton of it every Monday to go with steak. Usually I end up with about 2 servings worth leftover to make new dishes with during the week. The truffle gives it that special something and it goes great with pasta, rice, chicken, beef, turkey, etc! . . Here I was pinched for time so I paired with asparagus and frozen turkey meatballs I warmed up and mixed in with everything else! . . Swipe for tracker and ingredients. . . All you do is sauté the mushrooms over medium heat with a little salt/pepper/garlic powder (measure with your heart). I start my pre-op diet on Tuesday and also have my endoscopy Tuesday morning. I am having all the doubt and second thoughts. . Lots of people have said "I dont look like I need this". My word for 2019 was "celebrate". It sounds like a very superficial word but it was really to overcome a huge obstacle I faced - to celebrate myself. Yes, I'm so grateful for every opportunity I've been given and for every idea that comes to life, but what I couldn't do was celebrate it. When I talk about celebrating, I don't mean just the social media posts or having a party, but even the simple act of appreciating and acknowledging myself. So basically what that would look like is me setting specific goals, achieving them, and then moving on to the next goal without truly appreciating myself. I would talk myself down that it must not be that big of a deal if I was able to do it, so let's move on to the next bigger goal I have! As I'm writing this out I'm having such a hard time sharing this because when it comes to others' goals and achievements I'm all about acknowledging and appreciating. So why was I having a hard time extending this courtesy to myself? So in 2019, I set out to change this. I started off by doing small physical acts like buying myself a gift when I accomplished something. But where the real change happened is when I started to be nicer to myself. When I started celebrating myself. This mindset shift is still something I will continue to work on in the new year inshallah. One part of that mindset shift was having a party to celebrate the launch of my book! I want to hear from you, what's one thing you are proud of accomplishing this year? Let's celebrate together!! Moms out there. We are beautifully created! I share this open and vulnerable post in hopes you recognize we all struggle to some degree with body image. . What a long road this has been! Feeling light and free and grateful with what “I’ve got” 😊 I literally got something off my chest. It hasn’t been an easy journey or easy for me to share this part of my life but I feel compelled to do so. If it weren’t for so many other women opening up about this, I don’t know if I would’ve been where I am now...putting ourselves out there can be uncomfortable but so refreshing too. Today marks 4 months since I had breast implant removal or (Explant) surgery and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to have done so. My body, mind and soul are at PEACE. The thing is I never imagined my young self wanting to “enhance” my body in any way In the first place... but four and a half years ago and after nursing 3 babies I justified my decision to do so. Our bodies change during pregnancy and motherhood, it’s inevitable. I was mourning the “loss” of what I used to have. Embracing the change was hard. I was turning 30 that year and we had our 10th year anniversary...why not just have surgery?! I could make this a long story but keeping it brief for the time being. I am happy to share more if you reach out. Please know I’m here for you. We live and we learn right? So I had a think about how I would like to influence you regarding your health if it even reaches one person this is my advice: 1) If it ain’t broke don’t fix it, if your feeling strong, healthy and happy without any reliance on medications then you are doing great don’t worry! 2) If you look in the mirror and feel sad about what you see, absolutely be open to change don’t hide behind unwillingness this doesn’t serve you. 3) pick a mentor that resembles your life I.e if your a busy mum find a busy mum who inspires you and is making it work, don’t pick a glam celebrity who’s life is just so different you will never attain those goals. 4) Eat more veg always, there is no study anywhere that says eating more veg is a bad thing, when in doubt eat vegetables! 5) drink enough water especially first thing in the morning add lemon for extra alkalizing 6) reach out! Life is too bloody precious to live it secretly miserable your one person away from the help you need, jump in! 7) be real with yourself if you know ham and cheese sandwiches are not ideal stop remembering what grandma did and move forwards, don’t be afraid to change a lifetimes habits. 8) stop asking your doctor for nutrition advice they are not nutritionists! 9) small steps change your life, then a few more and a few more don’t become overwhelmed just start small and talk positively through the journey ❤️

The ultimate brownies, versión navideña 🎅🏻🎄, y es que ya se siente que se acaba el año por todos lados 🤩🤯⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ No podía acabar el año sin volver a compartirles la receta de los mejores brownies que van a probar, #sinlacteos #sinazucar #sinharinas #singluten ¡Están deliciosos! 🍫❤️⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Aquí va la receta:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 100 gr de chocolate oscuro sin azúcar 🍫⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1/3 taza de aceite de coco ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1 taza de azúcar del monje, o el azúcar que quieran⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1 cucharada de vainilla natural⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1/2 taza de cacao natural en polvo ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1/2 taza de @saraisspreads de cacao+avellana, de preferencia el crunchy 😋⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 1/2 taza de avellana picada 🌰 para darle sabor Nutelloso, o usen la nuez que más les guste ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 3 huevos orgánicos batidos ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 3/4 taza de harina de almendra⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 🎅🏻 Candycanes / dulces de menta triturados (ya se que no son healthy pero es mínimo y es opcional para darle el toque navideño)⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Instrucciones:⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 1. Precalentar el horno a 180°C⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 2. Separar unos cachitos de chocolate y cortarlos en chunks. Derretir el resto del chocolate con el aceite de coco a baño María. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 3. Se apaga el fuego y se agrega el azúcar del monje y la vainilla, y se revuelve bien hasta disolver. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 4. Se pasa todo a un bowl, y se agregan los huevos, la avellana, el cacao y la harina de almendra y se mezcla bien. Agregar aquí los chunks de chocolate y volver a mezclar. Asegúrense de tener una mezcla que puedan vaciar, pero si le falta más líquido se puede agregar de a poco leche vegetal. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ 5. Engrasar el molde o usar papel para hornear y se vacía la mezcla.
